The LHAH Pet Cams provide real time video to your computer. To accomplish this high technology display, a couple of Active –X software interfaces must
be downloaded into your computer. These are safe and their installation is required only once.
The warning shown above does not mean there is any problem with the Active-X downloads, it simply means that your Internet Explorer browsers security level is
preventing the download.
This guide will assist you in allowing the installation of the Active-X interface. We recommend you print this page or ask for a hard copy from LHAH.
Following these instructions step-by-step will enable you to install the Active-X software and you will only need to do this one time.
- Start your Internet Explorer browser.
- On the top of the screen, select Tools then select Internet Options.
- When the Internet Options dialog box appears, select the Security tab.
- Select the Internet zone. Click on the Custom Level button.
- The Security Settings box will appear.
If you have Internet Explorer 6, complete the following instructions. Users of Internet Explorer 7 CLICK HERE.
- Scroll down to "Download signed Active-X Controls" and click on the Enable setting.
- Scroll down to "Download unsigned Active-X Controls" and click on the Enable setting.
- Scroll down to "Initialize and script Active-X Controls not marked as safe" and click on the Enable setting.
- Click OK to save your new settings. Click OK at any security warnings boxes that may appear.
- Click OK at the Internet Options dialog box to close it out with your new settings.
Congratulations, you are now ready to install the Pet Cams Active-X interface.
- In your browsers address bar, type www.lhah.com to access the main web site for Laguna Hills Animal Hosptial.
- Click on "Pet Resort". Scroll down and click on the Active-X Pet Cams symbol.
The Pet Cam web server will now want to install the ActiveX viewing software interface. Click Ok / Yes on the dialog boxes that appear. With your new
Internet settings, your browser will be allowed to install the ActiveX.
Once the installation is complete, you will be presented with the "Connect" dialog box.
- Click the ID/Pass Save and enter the word pets for both the ID and Password.
- Press the connect button (two computers linked together) and your computer should now be able to access the Pet Cams.
When you have finished viewing the Pet Cams, close out the window with the
red X.
Because the ActiveX only needs to be installed once, your Internet security levels should be returned to their previous settings as follows:
- On the top of the screen, select Tools then select Internet Options.
- When the Internet Options dialog box appears, select the Security tab.
- Select the Internet zone. Click on the Custom Level button.
- The Security Settings box will appear.
- Scroll down to "Download signed ActiveX Controls" and click on the Promte setting.
- Scroll down to "Download unsigned ActiveX Controls" and click on the Promte setting.
- Scroll down to "Initialize and script ActiveX Controls not marked as safe" and click on the Promte setting.
- Click Ok to save your new settings. Click Ok at any security warnings boxes that may appear.
- Click Ok at the Internet Options dialog box to close it out with your previous settings restored.
On your next visit to the Pet Cams, you will not be required to install the Active-X again and access to the Pet Cams becomes a simple click of the mouse.
