Researchers at the Veterinary College at UC Davis have finally identified the flea as the
culprit that transmits the germ that causes "cat scratch fever" in humans !!
In other words the pesky flea does more than just make your pet itch and scratch. It also
transmits disease that in turn can be transmitted to susceptible people.
About 22,000 cases of cat scratch fever in people are reported every year (10% require
hospitalization) and approx. $12 million is spent annually in health care costs for treating this disease.
We would encourage everyone that has not tried their pets on the new combination flea control regimen of oral PROGRAM and the topical spot-on
FRONTLINE to consider it. These two products have worked amazingly well to help control flea problems on our pets. We are also seeing fewer pets with tapeworms,
since these parasites are also spread by fleas.

IDENTIFICATION MICROCHIPS
Hundreds of animals have been successfully returned to grieving pet owners because of the hidden microchip.
All animal shelters, the emergency pet hospital and most veterinary clinics use special scanners on all stray pets. The $35 spent to have the chip implanted
could be the best investment you make for your pet.
QUESTION:
Why do pets need to have their teeth cleaned? I don't remember my parents ever having this done with our family pets?
ANSWER:
Veterinary dentistry is perhaps "the most" significant advancem ent in pet health care in the last 20 years !!
In the "old days" our family pets, on the average, did not live as long and lost most of their teeth before they
died. The same was true with people.
Even with the advent of artificial hip joints and kidney transplants the care that we can offer pets in the area
of oral health is phenomenal. The elimination of tartar on the teeth and gum infection not only makes your pet's breath much better but the process reduces damage to the heart, liver and kidneys.
Having your pet's teeth cleaned on a regular basis (every 1-2 years is routine) can add years to its life.
